Floppy Bunny Ears Easter Sign

Blog· Easter / Spring· Easy Crafts and DIY· Seasonal decorating

When I bought this arrow sign from Hobbycraft I had absolutely NO idea what I was going to do with it. Not a scoobie .. But sometimes I just buy things and they will sit patiently in my craft stash until the right moment. And then I was adding some Easter touches around the house with some bunny ears. You know the ones – you can get them in all the usual places – Poundland, The Range, Wilko’s. I’m talking about these type of ones (that I just stick randomly in my plants to add a bit of Easter fun).

And so it came to me .. my life needs more floppy bunny ears! They just make me smile! Enter the Hobbycraft sign!! It was perfect for this oh-so-simple little project.

Because I made this project on a Live there’s not many progress photos, but I’m making up for it by showing you LOTS of colourful pics of the finished article 🙂

And if you want to see how I made it – you can still catch the video right here.

Here’s What I used for my floppy bunny ears sign

  • I used this sign from Hobbycraft
  • A “Happy Easter” banner from The Range – I can’t see these online so pop into your local store. Alternatively I found a VERY similar one here.
  • Pastel mini eggs from Hobbycraft (or Amazon do some cute ones here)
  • Various ribbons – the gorgeous Aqua Spring one is from USATOUKWREATHS on Etsy. This lady seriously has the most amazing ribbons!
  • Hot glue – of course!
  • Some bunny ears

Putting it all together

I decided to use the back of the sign (I wasn’t a fan of the black line on the front of the arrow), but that’s personal preference. I didn’t do anything to it, but of course you can paint or stain it if you want!

The Happy Easter banner has some real nice wooden letters which I just took off. They came off really easy. The bunny on the end of the wording was a bit more reluctant, so I just cut the string as close to the bunny as possible.

And then it’s just a case of hot gluing the letters in place. If I was to do the project again I would have glued the letters slightly lower, but you know, .. live and learn! One of the bunnies was glued onto the sign as well.

Next I just randomly added a few eggs here and there, gluing them on and in the letters. Here’s a close up!

The floppy bunny ears actually came off quite easily with a sharp pair of scissors. I cut the material at the bottom slightly diagonally and hot glued them right on top of the sign.

And finally, to finish off the whole thing, I made a messy bow with some matching happy Spring colours and hot glued it right in the middle of the ears.
