I know the majority of you guys will decorate for Christmas ( don’t you just LOVE it??!! .. I may or may not go a bit overboard at Christmas .. ) BUT do you guys decorate for Spring? And if not .. why not?! You’re missing out!!! :). Even if it’s just adding a bunny or two! I do love to mix things up and create some easy, fun items to invite every new season into our home. And if you don’t know where to start, this oh so simple Spring bunting project is the perfect starting craft for you!
here’s what you need
- Hessian Bunting – I bought mine from The Range a while ago but this one from Amazon is very similar (although a bit longer so you may have to cut it to size!)
- Papermania Bare Basics adhesive wooden letters of choice
- Acrylic paint (optional)
- Glue gun
- Mini pom pom trim (optional but super-cute!)
I don’t have any step by step photos of this Spring bunting project as I completed this one on a FaceBook live (you can check it out below if you want to see the step by step). However, it really is SO simple. If you can glue stuff down, you can totally do this!
here’s how to do it
My bunting had 6 triangles. Perfect for either the word “Easter” or “Spring”. Turned out they didn’t have any “E’s” left in the shop so spelling “Easter” was out! So “Spring” it is then…!!
As there is a very slight colour variation in the letters I gave all the letters a very light coat of white paint. This is completely optional and really, if you just want to glue the letters down, you’re good to go!
Next, take your glue gun and add a little bit of glue to the back of your letters (one at a time). Stick them down on the bunting. Make sure that the bunting is facing up the right way (avoiding gluing anything to the string which should be at the back).
You could absolutely leave it at that if you wanted to. I opted to add some more detail and colour to it with the mini pom pom multicoloured trim. This was as simple as gluing it to the top of the triangles with the hot glue gun.
I think it looks super-cute and LOVE the whole pom pom trend at the moment. If you’re a bit Pom Pom mad like I am, you will LOVE my colourful pom pom tree – you can check it out here. It’s super-easy to do!
the result
Here’s what it looks like in our home. I love the combination of the pom pom trim with the colours of the bunny.
By the way .. see the block bunnies in the photo below? You can check out my project on how to make them here.
