I’ve ALWAYS decorated our home for Spring and Easter. And even now our kids are grown up, I think secretly they still love the whole Easter egg hunt and everything that comes with Easter – (just don’t tell them I told you!)
Now, of course The Range, Matalan, TK Maxx and all those kinda places all do amazingly quirky Easter decorations. And I buy a lot of my decorations in there too. Because you know I love ALLL those shops. But you know I LOVE to get creative with some projects too! And with some basic card stock and a bit of string you can totally make your own Bunny Butt Bunting in no time at all!
here’s what i used for my bunny BUTT bunting
- A bunny silhouette – if you’ve not got one, you can download the one I used here
- Some colourful card stock of your choice. Unfortunately they no longer do the one I used, but I found you a gorgeous Easter paper pad here.
- Some string or ribbon
- A pair of scissors
- Some glue
- A craft hole punch (optional)
- Some pom poms (or cotton wool balls as an alternative)
and here’s how you do it
Now, I am lucky enough to have a Silhouette Cameo machine which allowed me to cut out 6 bunnies at the same time (major time saver alert!). If you like crafting and making your own designs I highly recommend it! It allows you to cut vinyls and loads of other materials too. You can check out one of my other projects I where I used the Silhouette here.
Anyway, with some patience and maybe getting some kids or family members on board?! .. (well, yes, I mean bribe them! ..) you can trace the template onto some card and create a whole litter of bunnies in no time at all.
Once you’ve got the bunnies cut out, the next step is a breeze. Seriously, this will take you no time at all. Cut a little hole at the base of each of the ears and simply pull the string through (see pictures).
I forgot the tails!!
And that’s all there is to it. So quick, so simple, but Oh So Cute! I actually put the banner up, but then realised I forgot to glue the bunny tails on them .. it’s middle age syndrome, I swear … Anyway, either looks super cute.
This is what it looked like without the cotton tails.
And here it is with their cute bunny butts after I took it all down (sigh!!) and glued them on.
Which one do you prefer?
Do you know anyone who would love this project too? Please do let them know!
Pin for later!
