Who can resist a cute little bunny?! Goodness knows we had our fair share of bunnies when the kids were small. There’s just something about their floppy ears and little cotton tail that is just irresistible! Maybe that’s why I love Easter so much? Naaah!! Who am I kidding? .. it’s the chocolate!!
Anyway, this cute little wine glass bunny is the perfect project to add a bit of fun to your Easter decor this year. `It’s super simple to make and perfect to add as a candle holder display on your Easter table. Here’s how you do it.
here’s what you need for your wine glass bunny
- A spare wine glass – check out this set of 4 at The Range
- White acrylic paint
- Pink acrylic paint
- A black Sharpie or Black Posca pen, like this one
- Some Hessian material
- Some ribbon to make a bow
- Hot glue gun
- A battery operated tea light (optional, but super-cute on your Easter breakfast table)
and here’s how you do it
Before I start, if you want to see how I did it on video – you can check out this Facebook Live where I show you step by step. Trust me, it’s so much easier than you think!
Start by painting the INSIDE of the wine glass with white acrylic paint. Depending on the coverage you want, you may need more than one layer. Just make sure the layers dry before adding another one.
Next, cut two bunny ears from your Hessian material. Paint the inside of the ear with pink acrylic paint to add some detail. Alternatively you can cut some pink felt material and glue this on.
Turn your wine glass over (stem up) and add hot glue to the glass, just below the base of the stem (see above.) Next, cross the ears over slightly and push down into the glue. Mind those fingers! That glue gets HOT!! (I know, the clue’s in the name but you can’t be too careful 🙂 ) You can add some more glue in places if needed to make sure they are stuck down. Don’t worry if the bottom of the ears looks a bit tatty. You’ll be adding a cute bow to hide any imperfections.
Make yourself a super-cute bow and glue it on top of the ears. Want to know how to make this easiest bow EVER? Check out this blog post with video to show you exactly how to do it – in about one minute flat!
Grab a black Sharpie or Posca pen to draw on the eyes. If you’ve not used a Posca pen before .. what are you waiting for? It’s brilliant! Next I painted the little heart nose with some pink acrylic paint and a small detail brush, before finishing it off by adding the whiskers and the mouth with the black pen.

And here’s how my Wine Glass Bunny looked on our Easter breakfast table. I made two in the end and added a little battery operated tea light to the top. I think they look sooo cute!
What do you reckon? Will you be trying this at Easter time?
