There’s a real mixture of tea lovers, coffee addicts and milk drinkers in our house. But, one drink we can ALL agree on in the winter months is some comforting hot chocolate! Especially when it’s served with marshmallows. In a Christmas mug of course!!
Do you, like me, swoon over the dedicated coffee and hot chocolate bar ideas that are on Pinterest? I would LOVE to have part of the kitchen dedicated especially to making drinks. (Of course! It’s another area I could decorate depending on the season and special occasions!) But, as much as we’ve got a nice kitchen, we just don’t have the space for all that.
But what we have got room for is a tray. (You know my motto by now – you can never have too many trays!) And to be honest, that’s pretty much all you need for this cute chocolate bar. It is the perfect addition to our Christmas kitchen. And it’s totally something you can set up in your home too. All you need is a tray and a bit of empty workspace (who needs the toaster when you’ve got the choice of hot chocolate instead? 😉 )
I put the biscuit barrel and the snowman mugs on a cake stand just to create some height. Add some cute mugs, bottles with cocoa and treats and of course some candy canes for decoration. Tuck in some greenery to fill up the gaps and boom! – your Christmas hot chocolate tray is ready for action!
The little wooden roller was only a £1 in one of the local shops. I painted it red with some acrylic paint and used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the vinyl “Ho Ho Ho”.
I love how it packs a real colour punch and looks so festive with the Christmas mugs 🙂
The “Hot Chocolate” sign was a small chopping board from The Range that I painted black. I added the vinyl decal.

I bought my snowman mugs from Laura Ashley last year but unfortunately they’re no longer available. Here’s Amazon’s version of them. I can’t remember where I bought the reindeer ones, but I think they were from Home Bargains last year. Amazon do a cute one here.
The Santa Cookie jar was from a local garden centre (on sale after Christmas – keep an eye out for some bargains!). I’m loving this Gonk cookie jar from Amazon this year!
I got the three glass milk bottles from Facebook Marketplace. The ones I used are about 20 cm high.
And the cutesy gingerbread house came from Poundland. It just fits perfectly to fill up the last little bit of empty space 🙂
So will you be adding a hot chocolate station to your kitchen this year?
If you like the idea, I’d be grateful if you could share this for me so others can find it too?
