Let’s talk about our living room. Now, i’s no secret to anyone (including my family) that it’s not currently my absolute favourite room in our home. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m EXTREMELY grateful for what we have! It’s just that my taste has changed over the years since we decorated this room. I love light and bright. And the red is just a bit too dark for my liking. Apart from Christmas time – I love it at Christmas! But it can’t be Christmas all years round apparently .. or so I’ve been told!
Anyway, what I’m trying to say, is that even if you have an area that is not your absolute favourite, you can still have some fun with it and make it your own.
So, I’m working with what we’ve been blessed with and sprinkling some splashes of colour and brightness here and there. And bright colourful Easter/Spring decorations are the way to go! Let me show you how I’ve made some simple additions to give a happy Spring vibe to our living room.

See what I mean? Just a few bunnies here and there just brighten the whole fireplace up!
By the way – the pastel tulip drawing on the fireplace is my hubby’s handiwork!! Isn’t it gorgeous? Yup, he’s definitely the drawer in this household. My drawing talent finishes at stickmen! 😉
The pom pom garland on the fireplace was literally a 10 minute project (if that!) over breakfast. I grabbed these pom poms (I picked out the colours I wanted), some thread and a needle. Thread the pom poms and hang. Done!!
The other garland with the Easter eggs came from The Range. I can’t remember what it cost me, but it will only have been a few pounds.
UPDATE ON POST – They do a really cute alternative this year which you can find right here.

The gorgeous fluffy bunny on the left was a Market Place find (as were the candle holders!) The pair of straw bunnies on the right were from The Range and cost £8.99 for each bunny. Amazon do some similar ones here and here.
The bunny canvas (on the bottom right) was such fun to make. The bunny Spring sign on the bottom left was a Facebook Live project. And the old coal scuttle was another Market Place find that had a complete make-over turning it into a planter.

Here’s a close up of the colourful pom pom garland. Trust me – it’s so easy!
More bunnies!
And on the other side of the living room I’ve just added some more bunnies on a dresser. I bought them from The Range and I’ve tagged them, just in case they get them back in stock this year! Let me show you:

Isn’t she cute?? AND she’s got a bunny boyfriend too ..

Here he is .. carrying the carrot for her .. what a gentleman 🙂 The flower box with the hydrangeas were from our local garden centre. I’m thinking of adding a stencil to the box but haven’t got round to it yet.

And here they are together. The grass runner was also from The Range and was only £3.99! Hobbycraft do a similar one here.
Do you recognise the Spring Wreath on the door? It’s a project from last year – you can find how to make your own here. The chalkboard sign is one of my favourite phrases and definitely applies to me when it comes to crafting and decorating! It used to be a pine mirror and had a complete transformation. Check out how you can make your own here.
Here’s one final close up of Mr and Mrs Cottontail!

I hope you enjoyed our little lounge tour. And hopefully it’s given you some ideas you can add to your own home?
