You know the saying “money for old rope”? Well .. in my little world, it’s .. “crafting with old rope” 😉 ! Who knew that a bit of rope could create something so cute??
Here’s how easy it is to make this adorable little bunny ..
First things first, I made this on a Facebook Live, so you can craft along with me right here. However, I took some still photos from the video and posted them below.
What I used for my rope bunny
Some rope – I got mine at B&Q but Amazon do similar here
Hot glue
Some carrot ribbon – check out this selection on Etsy
One single daffodil flower
A few sprigs of greenery
A bit of material of your choice – I used this one, from a previous project
A bit of cereal cardboard
Scissors
Putting together your bunny
It’s so simple! Start with adding a small amount of hot glue on the end of your rope and rolling it up, making sure the glue sets to create the start of a circle. Keep going, adding some hot glue and continuing to roll up the rope. You can make this as small or as big as you want. Just stop when you’re happy with the size and cut off the rope.
I used the bit that was cut off as the top, as I knew I would cover this up with a bow.
Next, I cut some cardboard in the rough shape of some bunny ears. Hot glue some material on top of your cardboard and glue some rope around the outline.
Finally, hot glue the ears to the top of your rope circle to finish the bunny face.

To hide where I cut the rope at the top, and to finish off this simple project, I created a big bow from some beautiful ribbon from USA to UK Wreaths.
Before finishing it off with two small bits of greenery and a single daffodil flower
all done!
How easy was that?
A great way to use up a bit of old rope and create something colourful for your home
I created a small hanger by hot gluing a piece of string to the back of the project
P.S. – Here’s another bunny we made with some rope and string recently!
